I was born and raised in Mexico City. I have always been very active since I was a child, thanks to my mom who signed me up for swimming lessons when I was 3 years old. That was how I first started in sports! I did competitive swimming for 9 years, along with soccer and dancing. I also played basketball, volleyball, capoeira, karate, and kickboxing.
I moved to Denver when I was 19 years old, and started attending classes at the local YMCA. At one point I was attending 4 classes a day, 7 days a week, and I tried every single class on the calendar. But it wasn’t challenging enough, and I didn't see the results that I wanted. I really thought I was fit when I came across a Facebook post from CrossFit Eminence. I signed up for a 6-week challenge and discovered a whole new world of movements, techniques, and challenges that made me fall in love with the sport of CrossFit.
As time went by, I learned that you can make CrossFit as competitive as you want - but the real competition is with yourself. Once you start knowing your body, you stop worrying about other people’s scores and focus on your own growth. CrossFit Eminence has been an amazing community where I discovered great support and made many new friendships. I really love to see what people are capable of doing, and it’s very rewarding to see them accomplish something they didn’t know they could do. That’s why I love coaching!
